biscuit are you and why? Ha ha ha. I’m going to pick Aldous Huxley but only during his LA living period, its too cold here! I like to take that inspiration of how you can carve your own way and follow your own ideals but still relate that to a mass audience.”
If you could go back in time, in what era would you choose to live?- Why?
Dan – “90’s”
Dave– “1920’s for obvious reasons!!!”
V icky– “1950’s they had more fun then! Cocktails anyone?”
What was your greatest opportunity?
Dave – “Its yet to come.”
You’ve supported some good bands; I bet you have some stories to tell here too?
Dave – “We’ve enjoyed playing with a lot of different bands but I’ve not really got any insider knowledge to tell you about any of the bands we’ve played with. It’s the unglamorous side of rock and roll, most bands sit around eating Ginster pasties and complaining about the traffic getting there! Hang on, should I tell you about outrageous nights on tour. We once got in to an argument about fish in Grimsby!”
What comes first friendship or music?
Danny – “Friendship Man”
Vicky – “It all comes together we’re all good friends in the band.”
You have played different venues from full festivals to one man and his dog. (anecdotes).
Dave- “We have played all over , I think we’re just about to play our 150th gig as a band, but every gig is so different. We loved playing Rough Beats last summer that was pretty cool, as was the Big gig in Bradford back in 2006. On the downside some of our early gigs away from home even the dog didn’t turn up!”
What’s it like a new band finding gigs, and audiences?
Dave – “As we’ve been around for a while now a lot of gigs get offered to us but we are always looking for new towns to visit and crowds to play to. Last week we played Blackburn for the first time and that was ace”
What do you do when you finish a gig?
Dave – “I’m normally so hot I run straight off stage and straight outside to cool down. Its not uncommon to see me shattered stood outside of a gig with steam coming off hyperventilating shortly after we have played!”
Vicky – “Go home !”
So Ep’s, Records and a film shoot, what else lies in store for the Hoover Dams?
Dave - “Look out for debut Belle Records release Go! In Easter, it has a fantastic video to it too. We’ll be playing gigs throughout Yorkshire and beyond and hopefully we’re just going to keep on doing what we are doing and a few people will join us on the way”
How would you like to be remembered?
Dave – “I’m not sure how we would like to be remembered but I’m sure it will be for Pete, our Hoover”
Vicky – “As the best band on the planet !!”
Danny – “We are going to be remembered once they see our new video”
