Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and magic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream opens at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough

Four lovers lose themselves in a parallel world of enchantment and mischief, dominated by fairies, sprites and hobgoblins.
Caught in the crossfire between the quarrelling King and Queen of the Fairies, the dazed lovers and a motley crew of bumbling players fall prey to trickery and illusion.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works and was the first play that director Chris Monks ever saw performed by a professional company. He says “it has everything – comedy, music, wonderful characters and it’s about love”.
This production leaves Shakespeare’s exquisite language intact and offers a visually delightful show for all the family.
