Factory St. Studios provides a one stop shop for all musicians as well as a clean and safe facility for all members of the community. Alex explained “Our goal was to create an environment that ticks
every box for musicians. The planning stages were critical and we considered everything from the location, architectural design, the equipment and technical capabilities. We’ve also got a large chill out room and a huge workshop space, which we’ve called ‘The Piece Room’, to reflect the history of building as a Worsted Mill.”
Alex and Amy bring years of experience in the music industry to the project. Together they played a key role in organising the first Leeds Blues Festival in 2006.
Alex is a blues musician playing with, amongst others, Crosscut Saw and Euclid Avenue and is an experienced luthier with over 15 years experience - he is able to offer creation, repair and renovation of stringed musical instruments. Alex’s wife,
Amy has grown up within the music scene - both dad and step-mum are accomplished singers, and she has undertaken promotional work, organising events and performances for Alex’s band, Crosscut Saw.
Musicians benefit from the added value of an online booking system, ground floor loading, plentiful parking and a large storage space for band equipment. The facility is open 7 days a week from 4 – 10pm. For further information, visit the Factory St. Studios website www.factorystreet.co.uk
