In two short years Little Comets have come from nothing to quickly rising as one of the bands to watch in 2010; selling out tours across the north east, causing havoc  at universities around the country with their impromptu gigs in lecture halls and bagging support from the likes of Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and Radio 1. Following a celebrated set on the introducing stage at In The City last October the band caught everyone’s attention, landing themselves a single deal with Lucky Number and an album deal to follow through Columbia records.
Mining from the same rich seam as acts like Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse and Black Kids the band
 entered the studio and recorded their debut album last February.
Little Comets are bothers Robbie (Vocals) and Micky (Guitar), Mark (drums) and Matt on bass. Crafting music to counter-act the chill factor of their Newcastle-upon-Tyne rehearsal facilities their music has a genuine, refreshing degree of optimism and energy lacking in the British indie scene. But to contrast with the band's warm grooves, brother Robbie writes lyrics representing the more broken parts of life, exploding scenes from kitchen sinks & other testing relationship dramas.  
Debut single 'One Night In October' describes one such, "with more invective than the
average detective, she questions me on the lawn  - windows ajar, tonight I will sleep in my car!" with lyrics like these it is not a surprise the band are influenced by writers such as Jonathan Safran Foer, Seamus Heaney & Roald Dahl, rather than any clichéd rock heroes.
To complement, brother Micky is the committed sonic scientist, & urges the band to create simultaneously epic & flowing soundtracks.  The blend is touched by surges of Morricone as much as moments of improvised rhythms sourced from kettles, sofas & all manner of
