Pre-show music in the foyer bar has been a welcome feature of folk events at Hull Truck in recent months and now the idea is to be extended with an innovative preview of the
Beverley Folk Festival.
The preview will be held at Hull Truck on June 13 – a week before the launch of the three-day event in Beverley.
Among those taking part are singer/songwriter Edwina Hayes
whose credits include opening shows for Nanci Griffiths, Van Morrison and Jules Holland, with Nanci Griffiths so impressed by her songwriting that she has recorded a cover version of the title track from Edwina’s latest album, Pour Me a Drink.
Also appearing as part of the Beverley Festival Preview is poet, comedian, singer and songwriter Rory Motion, veteran of no less than 18 appearances at the Glastonbury Festival.
